Wines I love - Blackstone 2002 Merlot California |
|
|
| What the label says: Our Blackstone
Merlot is produced from vineyards located throughout California's finest
grape growing regions. At Blackstone, we believe that each appellation
contributes unique flavor and structure from the area's soil and climatic
conditions. After harvesting the grapes, each vineyard lot is carefully
developed to capture its distinctive flavors and aromatic qualities.
The signature style of Blackstone is an integrated Merlot with rich fruit; surrounded by elegant creaminess, supple oak flavors and firm tannins. This Merlot is friendly, flavorful and balanced, encouraging the marriage between food and wine. Enjoy at home or in fine restaurants with a variety of flavorful cuisines. - Dennis Hill Winemaker |

| Why I like this wine: This is my favorite wine right now. You might say that the 2001 and 2002 Blackstone Merlot is a staple at our house, we stock it like some folks keep a case of beer on hand. I was introduced to Blackstone Merlot at a wedding. I would consider this to be the most user friendly wine I've ever had. In fact I believe their 2001 was voted the most popular restaurant wine somewhere. This wine is just simply agreeable and you can feel confident pouring it for anyone. The price is nice as well and you can usually get it on sale for about $8.99 I think what makes this wine so easy to like is the creaminess they mention on the label. Your first drink doesn't grab the back of your tongue as other reds will. | ||
