Wines I love - Solaris 1999 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve Napa Valley

What the label says:  Solaris, Latin for "of the sun", owes its dynamic character in part to the intense Napa Valley sunshine.  Solaris has a complex full bodied palate that is powerful but elegant.  Ripe black-fruit flavors leap out of the glass and are followed by lovely cherry cola, vanilla and black olive attributes.  The fine tannins and tempered acidity translate into great length of flavor and softness, finishing with the subtle spice of fully integrated oak.

Why I like this wine:  First this wine has a great color.  I had it with some marinated beef kabobs.  The look with the food created a nice setting for my meal.  The first sip will have you saying whoa as the wine grabs the back of your tongue.  Not in a bad way however.  Next sip much easier and you can taste the various items mentioned on the label.  Swirl it around in the glass and you'll see it makes thick legs.  I understand this means its high in alcohol and I can attest to that as a slight buzz was given after a single glass.  The nice thing is it doesn't taste high in alcohol so it is a very enjoyable wine.
